03 Legislation on carbon emission

To avoid rising sea levels, there needs to be new legislation on carbon emissions. The perfect example of this is the California Cap-and-Trade Program. This strategy establishes a limit on carbon dioxide and reduces the allowances by each year. By doing this, firms are willing to reduce carbon emissions. Accordingly, nationwide legislation on reducing carbon footprints should be built as well.

An example of nationwide legislation might be electric vehicle incentives. Research by the European Energy Agency found that the carbon emissions of an electric car are around 17-30% lower than cars with gas. Giving out incentives to the electric vehicle drivers will be a good global effort to start with.
